Dr. Jerry O’Flynn

Dr. Jerry, a native of Cork, completed his medical degree in UCC and shortly thereafter entered the Cork Vocational Training Programme for General Practice where he completed his GP Training. Dr. Jerry is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of General Practitioners. In addition to his Medical Degree, he also holds a Diploma in Dermatology and a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Dr. Jerry is one of the founding members of MIDOC (Out of Hours Service) and has held the role of Clinical Director of MIDOC for many years. Dr. Jerry has a keen interest in Sports Medicine and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine of the RCSI. He is currently the team doctor for the Westmeath Senior Football Team and a Racecourse Medical Officer with Kilbeggan Racecourse. Dr. Jerry has followed in his father’s footsteps becoming the Medical Director of the Cloyne Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes to which he travels, with his wife Dr. Marea, every year to look after the sick on pilgrimage. Dr. Jerry is also a GP trainer and mentors a new GP Registrar within the Practice each year. He also trained as a Human Givens Therapist. His special interests within the Practice are Sports Medicine and Psychology. When not in work, he might be found at a Munster Rugby game somewhere!

Dr. Marea O’Driscoll

Dr. Marea is also a native of Cork. She graduated from UCC and subsequently completed her GP training with the Cork Vocational Training Programme for General Practice. In addition to her Medical Degree, Dr. Marea holds a Diploma in Paediatrics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and she is also a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Irish College of General Practitioners. She, along with Dr. Jerry moved to Kilbeggan in 1987 and has been practicing medicine here at Kilbeggan Medical Centre ever since. During this time, she has provided a holistic approach to patient care. Her areas of special interest include Women's Health, Sexual Health, Paediatrics, Care of the Elderly and Palliative Care. Outside of work, Dr. Marea enjoys taking her dog for walks and spending time with family.

Dr. Cordula Grzonka

Dr. Cordula is originally from Germany. She graduated from LMU Medical School in Munich in 2002. She moved to England for her postgraduate training and qualified as a GP in 2011. She lived and worked in the U.K. as a GP for many years before joining us at Kilbeggan Medical Centre in 2017. In addition to her Medical Degree, Dr. Cordula holds a Diploma from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, a Diploma in Otolaryngology and is qualified to undertake many Minor Surgical Procedures. Dr. Cordula’s areas of special interest are ENT, Minor Surgery, Women’s Health and Family Planning. When she is not at work she enjoys growing vegetables, watching her chickens, baking and a good novel.

Dr. Ramsha Syed

Dr. Ramsha Syed is a passionate GP with a background in both family medicine and pediatrics. After studying medicine in Pakistan, she completed her post graduation in family medicine (general practice) and began her career working with the Irish College of General Practitioners.

Dr. Syed further expanded her expertise by earning a professional diploma in Pediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians Ireland. Currently nearing completion of her Master of Science in Public Health, she demonstrates a strong commitment to preventative care and population health.

While her primary interests lie in pediatrics, Dr. Syed also possesses experience in aesthetic dermatology. She has further broadened her expertise through courses in trauma care, reproductive health (women's health), and diabetic care.

Beyond her medical achievements, she finds joy in travel and spending time with her family. They've all grown fond of Ireland, and together they plan to make it their permanent home, becoming a part of the vibrant Irish community for years to come.

Mary Keane, Practice Nurse

Mary hails from the lovely Mayo. She joined the Practice in 2011, having worked for many years in Emergency Medicine in the hospital setting. She qualified as a General Nurse in 1974 and went on to complete several additional training courses to broaden her knowledge  and experience. Mary holds a Diploma in Gerontology, a Higher Diploma in Accident and Emergency Nursing, a Certificate in Diabetes Care, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and also underwent a course with the Rape Crisis Centre. Mary’s special interests include Diabetes and Trauma Medicine.

Janet Flood, Practice Nurse

Janet joined the practice in 2023 after previous experience with Vascular and Colorectal surgical patients in St. James Hospital. She holds a Bachelor in Science in General Nursing from Trinity College in Dublin. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge in these areas and is eager to expand her knowledge into General Practice. She has a keen interest in wound care, holds a certificate in stoma care and has recently qualified in microsuction. In 2022 she qualified as both a diabetes link nurse as well as a fall management link nurse and from this engaged in peer education.

Claire Moro, Practice Nurse

Claire joined the Practice in 2017 having returned from the UK back to her hometown of Moate. She qualified as a nurse in the UK, completing her degree in South Bank University and City University. Claire worked for many years in London, including The Royal Free Hospital. She went on to be instrumental in the setting up of an ENT clinic in the world renowned Harley Street where she worked as an ENT Nurse Specialist. Her special interests include Ear, Nose and Throat, Aural microsuction and Allergies.

Chloe Monaghan, Practice Nurse

Chloe joined the practice in 2022. She qualified from Dublin City University and was attached to Beaumont Hospital. She worked in the respiratory unit there before moving into geriatric care. She worked as Clinical Nurse Manager at Craddock House Nursing Home in Naas where she thoroughly enjoyed providing holistic care. She also holds a first class honors in Care of the Older Person and since joining the practice has gained her qualification in Principles in General Practice Nursing. At present she is loving her role in caring for all patients with a particular passion for dementia care and providing childhood immunisations.

 

Admin Team

Our admin team are the powerhouse behind the Practice and ensure that all your queries are answered to the best of our ability.  They are beavering away behind the scenes and are a huge asset to us.  Their duties range from answering the phones, dealing with incoming and outgoing post, processing results, typing letters, organisation of appointments, HSE returns etc…. the list is endless.

Catherine has been with the surgery since its inception and has a wealth of experience with in-depth patient and practice knowledge.  Kerrie has been with us since 2016, bringing with her previous medical secretary experience in radiology and other hospital settings.  Patricia comes to us having completed a Medical Secretary certificate 2 years ago. Joan joined the team in 2024 and also holds a medical secretary qualification.
